2nd report book

Hello teacher, here is the second report of the book “Sherlock Holmes Stories” that was written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Since you will know, the stories are about the famous detective Sherlock Holmes and his good friend Dr. Watson, who wrote what happened in each adventure in the book.

Summary:
I will write about the first story named "The Devil's Foot", begins when Holmes and Watson went to holidays, because a doctor in London checked Holmes and his health was weak, but it was never worrying the detective though he noticed that if his health was not good, he might not devote to solve cases.

In spite of being removed from the mysteries, he wouldn´t know that one of them would come at the door of the house where both friends were resting. Two men; Mr. Roundhay and Mr Tregennis, who were scared because Mrs Tregennis was murdered last night by a "Devil", inmediately, when Holmes listened about the supposed "Devil" he agreed the case. When they arrived, Holmes began the investigations, but there were few evidence, Mr Tregennis talked with them and said that the last night he had gone out of his house to drink, then, when he returned, he didn't see anything rare. The other day a man named Dr. Leon Sterndale appeared in Holmes's house asking for the well-being of the family of Mr. Tregennis, but the detective began to suspect him due to the fact that only the family, Watson and he knew about the murder, but that suspects made in Dr. Leon be mad.

But a new problem had appeared, Mr. Treggenis awaked "dead", his face showed an horrible expression and as the other murder, there were few evidence, but something did the maid in the room of his boss, she opened the window and this action made Holmes to think about it in days. Finally he had the clue and to verify if it was true, Watson agreed to could be the victim in the experiment, they close all the windows and the doors, then Holmes take some red stones and put it in fire, then a strange smell took Watson in a terrible condiction, he became feeling bad and then Holmes open all the windows and saved Watson from a terrible death.

The clue was that someone put the red stones in fire, this stones made a poisonous air that cause in the victim a terrible death, and the person that did this was Dr. Leon, when he was discovered, he admited that in the past he was in loved with the wife of Treggenis but she didn't want to wait him in his trip, and in revenge he killed Mrs Triggenis and later Mr. Triggenis.

But Holmes didn't have sufficient evidence to blame him, so Dr. Leon escaped.

In the second story I chose "The Creeping Man", a story that talk about a man named Professor Presbury's, who his dog had bitten his hand each 9 days, his story is rare, beacuse in the begining the Professor was a good man that always did his job with a good air, always was warning his family when he left home, but one day, he left without warning his family and when he returned, he have changed. After that day, he began to be a bad person with all his employers and with his family, specially when one of his best employers have discovered a strange box, because Presbury's became mad.

Holmes and Watson went to his house to investigate about him, but in a date surprise, the Professor became mad and he trhew out the two men. Holmes paid to the employers that wait one week until the next night when the dog tried to bite the Professor hand. The day came, and the two men went to his house to spy the Professor, when he approached the dog, he began to throw stones to it, then Holmes and Watson entered to his room and took the box. They opened the box and found a medicine, but the medicine was not for humans, because the medicine is for monkeys and if a human took the medicine, the person will act like a monkey and the reason of being a nuisance to the dog is only because he wanted to play with him.

Analysis:
I chose the two stories because the name of both were interesting for me, I was thinking that the name "The Devil´s Foot" and "The Creeping Man" were difficult cases that the murder was not a human, that could be a paranormal phenomenon or something similar. But if I analize I can say that both are similar beacuse Holmes have few clues to resolve the mistery.

Conclusion:
That was interesting for me, if I have time (on vacations) I would read the stories (but the complete version) for more fun, but I wabt to read another one that I am searching.

BOOK REPORT 1 "SHERLOCK HOLMES STORIES"

Hello, here is the report of the book; this book is named “Sherlock Holmes Stories” and it was written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The stories are about a famous detective who is British and his good friend named Watson, who wrote what happened in each adventure in the book.

Summary:
The stories that I chose for this report are “The man with the twisted lip” and “The final problem”. The first story talk about the disappearing of a man named Mr. Sinclair, who his wife paid to Sherlock Holmes found him, Watson joined with Holmes due to the fact that the wife of another man paid to him search his husband that was disappeared in a opium house. Returning to the real case, Mrs. Sinclair told to Holmes and Watson that she saw for last time his husband in his room, but she was sure of seeing him jumping the window of a room. After days of searching him, the police noticed to Mrs. Sinclair that they had caught a beggar, the possibly murder of Mr. Sinclair, then Holmes and Watson went to the jail to know something about Mr. Sinclair, but when Sherlock see the beggar, instantaneously he clean the face of the beggar and all was surprising because the beggar was really Mr. Sinclair. Then the case was resolved, Mr. Sinclair had been working as a beggar since he was a boy, but he was afraid of that his wife would find him in his job as a beggar, this is the reason that explain why the wife seemed to see him in the window, he scared at her and jumped.

The second story talk about the last time that Watson talked with Holmes, because Sherlock was in an important case: chase professor Moriarty. He was (according to Holmes), the best and the final case in his life, because he had been late it a lot of time in showing that Moriarty was the responsible of the crimes that had committed. Watson was worried about Holmes, he hadn’t seen Holmes very stress in that case. The final of the story leaves it to the mind of the reader, since the following day, Holmes leaves a letter to his friend Watson, saying to him that he should say to the police that in certain place there are the proofs that blame Moriarty and if he (Watson) is reading the letter now, in this moment the case is resolved and for consequence his life had ended.

Only is mentioned that maybe Holmes and Moriarty could have a discussion and they fell down to the waterfall and anyone could find his bodies.

Analysis:
When I read the Stories of Sherlock Holmes, it started pleasing me in the way of how the cases were giving themselves and were solved thanks to a interesting character, not only is smart, there are a special characteristic in Sherlock Holmes, he dedicate all his time to resolve a case for helping people, and is cool because he was created due to the epoch of the writter.

He isn’t like the TV programs, that shows rare cases where appear people that investigates with high technology (I don’t say that these programs are bad, also I like it), but Sherlock Homes always was alone and sometime at Watson’s company, with whom he formed a good friendship.

Conclusion:
This book was very interesting, I learned a little more some words in English and is a good idea read books like this because it helped me to be relaxing a bit.

Report "Lunar eclipse"

Hello!! I see the link that you posted and I want to comment about the pdcast that refered about the lunar eclipse that ocurred on februry 20 of this year. Personally an other topic that I like is space phenomenas (I search the word "fenómenos" in a dictionary and I found it like this, but I don´t know if it is the correct word). Well the lunar eclipse is a phenomen that ocurre a few times for each time of years. In this case for the firts 10 years of the milenium we have 2 lunar eclipse, this one and the other on 2010. I was in my house when the lunar eclipse began, rarely the sky didn´t have any clouds. It was a perfect moment to apreciatte this moment. I took some photographs with my cellphone (but it doesn´t look well) and I saw it with the binoculars of my parents. I saw 3 hours of the eclipse, I didn´t see the begining and the final time for the eclipse, but it was interesting because I passed a good moment with my family. And now, to wait the next eclipse.

Here is my comment, sorry for the time, this time the comment is about a interview to a participant of a ship tournament, but it wasn´t a simple tournament of ships that we know. This ships were robots that compete for a winner. The interviewed was talking about the funtions and how can the ships handle without getting lost oh the way. I think that this type of tournaments or contest are very interesting because his porpose is to demostrate, compare and see the best inventions, all with a good work of engineering, and I could say that is wonderful to see how the ship doesn´t descompose if it touches the water.
